Jermichael Finley Visits the Patriots

Early in the week, ESPN Boston writer Mike Reiss mentioned that tight end Jermichael Finley was visiting a “mystery team”, but he could say what that team was:

“For the Patriots, all eyes are on the tight end spot, where Dustin Keller and Jermichael Finley could provide an instant upgrade if their health checks out. Finley was reportedly set to visit a “mystery” team on Friday, but we couldn’t confirm if the Patriots were in that mix.”

Well, now we know who that team is.  It’s us.  Finley visited the Pats.  HELLLL YEA!

Evidently, this secret visit happened last Friday, but there’s no word yet as to how it went.  Finley did get full medical clearance last week after his scary spinal injury in week 7 of last season.

The Patriots have also had their eye on ex-Jet and Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller, whom any Pats fan can tell you is really fricking good, considering he carved up our defense on a regular basis.  Keller is also coming off a serious injury; he tore is ACL in the preseason last year (remember that questionable knee hit?  Just like our boy Gronk).

Obviously the Patriots need another tight end and it looks like they have their sights set on these two guys.  Both players have injury concerns, hence why they are still free agents, but the talent there is indisputable.  I’m hoping the meeting with Finley went well and we can see him in a Pats uniform.  Coupling him with Brady, and Gronk for that matter, would be an explosive 1-2 punch.  Something we haven’t had since the Convict.
