Patriots add some now needed depth on the defensive line.
The Patriots have reached into the bargain bin again and pull out a trade for former second round pick Jerel Worthy.
Worthy has had injury problems through his first two seasons in the league, including blowing out his knee in 2012. He hasn’t practiced this year due to a lower back injury and is currently on the non-football injury list.
Bill has worked his magic on this trade, since, according to ESPN, the Patriots traded a future pick for Worthy, but only send it to the Packers if Worthy makes the team. So if Worthy is cut, we get him for free. Seems like a pretty excellent deal on our parts.
It’s interesting to note that the Pats also recently traded for Cowboys’ D-lineman Ben Bass. This doesn’t bode well for the health of Chris Jones and Sealver Silga who have been missing practices due to injury as of late.
